My passion for textiles goes back to the age of seven when I learned to knit, and sew my own clothes. I started spinning in the early 1980s which added another dimension to my knitting. I thought there would never be enough time to take another craft but was encouraged to go on a beginner weaving class in 2001 and haven’t looked back.

Since then I have been mostly self-taught and enjoy the challenge of learning about complex weave structures. I love weaving with fine yarns for scarves and shawls, but particularly enjoy designing work with geometric shapes and symmetry for tableware and framed wall pieces. I use Weavepoint software to assist with the design process.

After weaving on an eight-shaft jack loom for ten years, I now work on a 16-shaft dobby loom which enables me to further explore and expand my weaving.
